Gary Mewes - Mentoring Support

Gary provides a practical service supporting Young People by developing Life Skills; ranging from every day skills such as shopping and using public transport to more recreational activities such as enjoying nature, animals and gentle exercise.

Gary has experience in supporting Young People with Aspergers (now included under the diagnosis of ASD – Autistic Spectrum Disorders). Gary has a calm and centred disposition which is reassuring for those lacking confidence.

Gary is also interested in working with adults and Young People experiencing Depression; a debilitating mental health issue.

“Emotional & Psychological awareness is fundamental for healthy growth as a human being. Mental Health issues should be taken just as seriously as physical health issues; when we are ill we need time and space to recover in our own time, without any pressure from outside to ‘hurry up and get well’.”

Gary works within the guidelines for ethical practice and equal opportunities as recommended by The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and is fully insured, with a current CRB certificate.
